Introduction

There may be cases where the J1939 pairs are incorrectly located in the 2 pin Deutsche connectors. Follow this instruction to identify and repair.

    • Another way to identify a repair is required is if the yellow wire is on top when looking at the connector with the part info facing you.

  2. Using a small electronics screwdriver or needle nose pliers remove the orange pin lock

    • Very little pressure required to release

  3. Once the Orange pin lock is removed the pin release tabs are exposed.
    • Once the Orange pin lock is removed the pin release tabs are exposed.

    • Using a small electronics screwdriver, release the tabs by pushing down away from the pins.

    • Keeping pulling pressure on the wires away from connector while releasing the pins may help to release easier

  4. When released the connector should slide off.
    • When released the connector should slide off.

    • Flip the connector around and slide back on to the pins.

  5. Once the connector is re-seated onto the pins it should look like this with the Green wire on top (part info on connector facing you)

    • Reinstall the orange pin lock.

  6. Follow the same instruction for the other connector.
    • Follow the same instruction for the other connector.

  7. When plugged into it's self the wire colors should match up Green to Green & Yellow to Yellow When plugged into the truck the wire colors should match up Green to Green & Yellow to Yellow
    • When plugged into it's self the wire colors should match up Green to Green & Yellow to Yellow

    • When plugged into the truck the wire colors should match up Green to Green & Yellow to Yellow

    • If the wires match up repair is complete
