Introduction

This guide provides the steps to install the Xirgo XT-63xx on Heavy Duty vehicles with the ECMD power cable.

NOTE 1: No 3-wire install, unless prior approval from Verizon Connect. The ECMD cable provides power.

NOTE 2: If the device does not recognize ignition status from the ECM, contact Support. The device may need an updated configuration.

  1. Record serial number
    • Record serial number

    • You will need the serial number to link the unit to the vehicle and to verify operation. It is best to record the S/N before starting installation.

  2. Amber - Cellular Signal Solid - Ignition ON; Cellular network lock
    • Amber - Cellular Signal

    • Solid - Ignition ON; Cellular network lock

    • Flashing - Ignition OFF

    • Fast Flashing - Ignition ON; Searching for cellular network

    • Bluetooth

    • Flashing - Bluetooth connected

    • Green - GPS

    • Flashing - Satellite count +1

  3. Find a location for device to be installed such as behind the instrument cluster, A-pillar or knee panel.

    • Unit needs to be mechanically secured with Zip-ties, Velcro, etc...

    • Device should be installed (sticker side up) with a clear line of site out of the vehicle for best reception.

    • Device will work through glass, plastic, and most composites.

    • Do Not place directly under metal!

    • Do not cover the ESN/Serial Number with two sided tape. The label will peel and be unreadable when the tape is removed.

  4. Plug the ECMD cable into the Xirgo device.
    • Plug the ECMD cable into the Xirgo device.

  5. Plug 24 pin I/O harness connector into the device.

    • Only use if peripherals are present. (Driver ID and PTO are available for Gov. customer.)

  6. Wire colors may change, always verify the pin number. Input 1=Pin 6; (+) Positive input

  7. For installs using ONLY an ECMD harness for power (no 3 wire to power device).
    • For installs using ONLY an ECMD harness for power (no 3 wire to power device).

    • When an ECM harness is used to power the device on Reveal the Driver ID Buzzer requires a 12v source to trigger.

    • With the harness disconnected, join the red and white wires on the 24 pin I/O harness together using a butt connector to provide power to an external buzzer.

  8. Plug the I/O harness into the Xirgo adapter cable. Photo 2. Xirgo adapter cable.

  9. Remove OEM DLC (Data Link Connector) (Photo 2) Plug the OEM DLC into the diagnostic Y cable included in the kit
    • Remove OEM DLC (Data Link Connector)

    • (Photo 2) Plug the OEM DLC into the diagnostic Y cable included in the kit

    • Twist to lock connection. Connection will "click" when locked.

    • Install Diagnostic Y cable DLC in the OEM location.

    • Secure cable along the way, staying clear of any moving parts

    • Verify operation through the Reveal Hardware installer app or call the Reveal Technician Support line to verify install at 866-908-1165

    • Download the Reveal Hardware Installer application for iOS and Android at the Apple store and Google store Apple App Store & Google Play
