Use Spotlight to install and set up a Xirgo vehicle tracker

This guide explains how to use the Verizon Connect Spotlight app to install and set up a Xirgo vehicle tracker.

Overview

When you use the Spotlight app to install a device, it:

  • Guides you through the installation and setup of the device.
  • Assigns the device to the vehicle.
  • Allows you to enter vehicle information.
  • Connects the device to the Verizon Connect fleet management tool.
  • Provides help when you need it.

The engine must be OFF when you are installing the device.

Step 1: Download and log into the Spotlight app

  1. Download the Spotlight by Verizon Connect app onto your mobile device.

  2. Log into the app with your Verizon Connect login details.
    If you do not have login details, contact your administrator.

Step 2: Assign the vehicle tracker to the device

  1. In the Spotlight app, go to Account > Device setup.
  2. On the What do you want to install? screen, tap Vehicle tracker.
  3. On the Select vehicle screen, tap NEW VEHICLE.
  4. On the Identify the device screen, use your mobile device to scan the barcode on the vehicle tracker.
    If it's not possible to scan the barcode, tap Manual input, and enter the vehicle tracker’s serial number.

Step 3: Connect the Xirgo device to the vehicle

  1. On the Welcome screen, tap GET STARTED.
    The Read the installation guide screen displays.
  2. Tap and access the installation guide for the type of installation.
  3. Install the Xirgo device in the vehicle as outlined in the relevant installation guide.

Step 4: Enter the vehicle information and connect to Reveal

  1. Once you have installed the device in the vehicle, choose SKIP TO CONNECT VEHICLE.
  2. When the device is recognised, tap CONNECT.
  3. While waiting for the device to connect, you can enter the vehicle information. To do this, tap EDIT VEHICLE PROFILE.
  4. On the Vehicle identity screen, enter the vehicle information and choose Save.
    Complete and accurate vehicle information allows Verizon Connect to provide better information about your vehicle.
    Enter the following information:
    • Vehicle name (mandatory)
    • License plate number (mandatory)
    • VIN
    • Year, Make, Model
    • Fuel type
    • Tank capacity
    • Fuel efficiency (city)
    • Fuel efficiency (highway)
    • Current odometer reading
  5. When the vehicle is successfully connected, the vehicle appears on the map with a pop-up that says Vehicle Connected.

  6. Tap COMPLETE SETUP and then CLOSE to complete the setup.

Transfers between vehicles which do not follow the(se) instructions will void any and all warranties from Verizon Connect, and relieve Verizon Connect of all liability for damages that arise from or are connected with your use of the devices.
