Reveal Hardware Installer Quick Start Guide

The Reveal Hardware Installer app guides you through the installation process and helps you run QA tests for each device you install.

Downloading the Reveal Hardware Installer App

Download the app from:

  • Apple Store
    • Minimum Device Requirements:  Android - Nougat 7.0 and up
  • Google Play
    • Minimum Device Requirements: iOS 11 and up

Logging into to the Reveal Hardware Installer App

  • If you have VZ Check login credentials, please continue to use these for the Reveal Hardware Installer App
  • If you don't have login credentials, contact your local scheduling department. 

Locating Work Tickets

  • Once logged in, a list of open Work Tickets will display
  • Locate the Work Ticket for the job you would like to Check In
    • To search for a Work Ticket, swipe down on the screen to reveal the Search bar
    • You can search by Work Ticket Number, Customer Name, or Address
  • Review Work Ticket details
  • Click the information icon on the top right to review additional information regarding the Work Ticket

VTU Installation Process

  • Navigate to the Work Ticket for the Install
  • Enter or scan the device ESN and tap Search
  • Select the type of Installation line item
    Add vehicle information to the Details tab
  • Select the QA Test tab
  • Select the peripherals that were installed on the Select Installed Peripherals menu and tap Save
  • Tap on an item in the Peripherals Installed list to begin testing

Follow the on screen instructions to complete the test.

QA Test | GPS

To run the test

  • Ensure the device is ready for GPS Test
  • Tap Start
  • Wait for test to complete

QA | Color Key

  • Test hasn't been run
  • Test in progress
  • Test is complete and successful
  • Test is completed and failed

QA Test | Ignition

  • On test: Please turn on ignition and tap the test button
  • Off test: Please turn off ignition and tap the off test button

Forward Facing Camera Installation Process

  • Navigate to the Work Ticket 
  • Enter or scan the device ESN and tap Search
  • Select the type of Installation line item
  • Enter or scan the VTU ESN and tap Search
  • Tap Assign and then, Alignment

Dashcam Installation Process

  • Check that the retrieved image is framed correctly
  • If necessary, reposition the camera and tap the spinning icon to retake a snapshot

Once satisfied, hit Complete Alignment, select Alignment Passed and OK.


If you were unable to get a satisfactory snapshot (no image, can’t frame correctly, etc), select Alignment Failed.

  • Type in the reason for failure and tap OK
  • Enter or scan the VTU ESN and tap Search
  • Tap Assign and then, Alignment
  • Add vehicle information to the Details tab
  • Select the QA Test tab
  • Select the peripherals that were installed on the Select Installed Peripherals menu and tap Save
  • Tap on an item in the Peripherals Installed list to begin testing
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the test
