Connecting accessories and sensor inputs

Note: 3-wire power and ground connections are not made when completing powered Y-cable installations. However, connecting the harness's white wire to an ignition source will provide power output for peripherals that require it.

  1. Plug the 24-pin I/O accessory harness connector into the CalAmp device once you have made peripheral and sensor input connections.

Refer to the accessory installation links and sensor input wiring diagram information below to complete installations.

Driver ID (Reveal and Fleet)

Temperature probes (Fleet only)

Magnetic door sensor (Fleet only)

Panic/Privacy button (Fleet Only)

Sensor inputs

Sensor inputs require a minimum voltage transition of ±5 volts up to 30 volts maximum. The equipment's trigger wire should switch between -/open polarity, (+/-) polarity, (or -/+) polarity when the equipment is at rest in the off state and receives positive voltage when the equipment is in use.

  • A 5 pin SPDT relay may be required for sensor input installation
  • Sensor inputs do not require the 3 wire leads to be installed
