10. Set up the cameras using the app
Skill level: Expert
The installer can identify and connect to common engine and electrical systems on vehicles and assets; such as control modules, sensors, trigger wires, alternators, starters, and solenoids. The installer can use pull-up and pull-down resistors, relays, and diodes.
This section describes how to test the installation in a Verizon Connect app.
Before you test the installation:

Ensure the vehicle is in a location that has good network coverage and a clear line of sight to the sky.

Turn on the vehicle ignition.
For Verizon Connect installation partners.

In the Revel Hardware Installer app, scan the device or enter the ESN.

Select Search.
-
Select the corresponding installation line item and then select Continue.

To identify the vehicle, enter or scan the VIN and select the vehicle you used for the install.
Note
To change the search method to VTU ESN, road-facing camera ESN or license plate number select change search method.

Before proceeding:

Ensure the vehicle is an area with good network coverage.

Turn on the vehicle so the devices receive power.

Select Get started.
-
The app will then check the DVR status.
Note
The device must be online before proceeding

Once the DVR is online, select Next.

Select the camera you want to set up and click Next.

Select a channel with an available preview to associate with your chosen camera and click Next.

Make sure the camera is positioned correctly and adjust if necessary.

Select where the camera is positioned on the vehicle by choosing an option from the dropdown list and click Next.
Note
Selecting where a camera is installed makes it easier to identify which camera recorded a video.

Repeat steps 9-12 until all cameras in the kit are set up.

On the Set up cameras screen, select Next.

To assign the devices to the vehicle, select Next.

On the Device Details screen, select Check in to complete the installation.
For Reveal and Fleet customers and their third-party installers

Download the Integrated Video by Verizon Connect app.

Log into the app with your Verizon Connect credentials.
If you do not have a login, contact your administrator.

In the Integrated Video app, go to Settings > Add new camera.

Scan the barcode on the DVR or on the packaging.
If you can’t scan the code, choose Manual input, and enter the ESN.

Select the vehicle in which the extended view cameras will be installed.
Find the vehicle you want to assign the camera to by scrolling down the list or searching by vehicle name, vehicle identification number (VIN).

Select Next.

On the Congratulations screen, select Finish to complete the installation.
In accord with the terms and conditions of the Master Technology and Subscription Services Agreement between you and Verizon Connect, Verizon Connect shall not be responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever in connection with the self-installation of equipment, including without limitation, if equipment or services are not able to properly function, unless such damages have been caused by the negligent act or omission of Verizon Connect. Tracking hardware connected to the diagnostic port in vehicles that have third-party devices present can cause the third-party device or vehicle to lose functionality. These third-party devices include, but are not limited to, wheelchair lifts, idle control modules and PTOs. If such a conflict exists, contact Verizon Connect support to have the tracking hardware configured to support the third-party device. Failure to do so relieves Verizon Connect of all liability for damages that arise from or are connected with your use of the devices. Installed devices may only be removed and transferred to another vehicle if the second has been tested for compatibility, as per the(se) instructions. Transfers between vehicles which do not follow the(se) instructions will void any and all warranties from Verizon Connect, and relieve Verizon Connect of all liability for damages that arise from or are connected with your use of the devices.
