Issue

DVR not receiving power and warning LED (!) is red.

Cause

DVR is not correctly connected to the power source.

Solution

  1. Observe the LEDs and refer to the LED state table below.

  2. Check that the vehicle ignition is on.

  3. Check the fuses and the connections on the DVR power cable with a digital multi-meter:

    • Red (constant power): 12 volt Battery (+)

    • White (true ignition) : > 9 V while cranking the engine.

    • Black (ground):

      • Light Duty vehicles may use an isolated chassis ground.

      • Heavy Duty vehicles may NOT use a chassis ground.  Connect to ground using factory marked spare grounding wire or a factory marked grounding bolt labeled for this purpose.

  4. Power cycle the DVR by unplugging the power harness from the DVR and leaving it unplugged for 1 minute.
