Transfer devices: XT Vehicle Tracker (Xirgo) with AI Dashcam and Extended View Cameras

This guide explains how to use the Verizon Connect Reveal Hardware Installer app to transfer or move a tracker and cameras from one vehicle to another.

Note

Not every step in this guide applies to your job. The Reveal Hardware Installer app only shows the relevant steps based on what you are transferring: the tracker only, the tracker and AI Dashcam, or the tracker with both AI Dashcam and Extended View Cameras.

Step 1: Select work ticket

  1. Log in to the Reveal Hardware Installer app using your Verizon Connect login details.

  2. Select the work ticket.

  3. Tap Scan device.

Step 2: Identify the existing vehicle tracker

  1. Enter or scan the device serial number of the tracker you want to transfer.

  2. Select the transfer line item. It is one of the following:

    • Reinstallation - Multiple Devices

    • Reinstallation - Single Device

    • Service/Repair - De/Re Single Device

    • Service/Repair - De/Re Multi Devices

  3. Tap Continue.

Step 3: Confirm the transfer details

  1. On the Device Transfer screen, ensure the following details are correct:

    • Vehicle information: The details of the vehicle in which the tracker was previously installed.

    • Device information: The device type and ESN of the tracker that you are transferring.

  2. Tap Next.

  1. In the How is the tracker connected to the vehicle? screen, select the power and ignition connection type so the correct configuration can be applied:

    • If the device is connected using a 3-wire connection, select Wired ignition.

    • If the device is connected by a cable to the diagnostic port (OBD-II or 6/9-pin or similar), select ECM diagnostic port.

  2. If you select the ECM diagnostic port option, you are prompted to select the cable used to connect the tracker.

  3. In the Are you installing Driver ID? section, select Yes or No as appropriate.

  4. Tap Continue.

Step 5: Prepare to test the installation

  1. Before you test the installation, ensure the following:

    • The tracker is receiving power and is securely mounted in its final location.

    • All removed dash panels have been refitted.

    • The vehicle is in an area with good network coverage.

    • Driver ID is connected and mounted (if applicable).

  2. Select the checkboxes next to each task.

  3. Tap Continue.

Step 6: Confirm location

  1. During this test, the tracker shares its location with Reveal.

  2. If the location is correct (within the highlighted area), tap Confirm location.

  3. If the location is incorrect, tap Test again.

  4. Tap Exit.

Note

If the location is still incorrect, tap How to improve GPS accuracy for tips and troubleshooting steps.

Step 7: Update Driver ID settings (if applicable)

  1. In the Driver ID section, choose how the Driver ID buzzer will operate when the vehicle is started but the driver has not used the fob to assign themselves to the vehicle.

    There are 3 options:

    • No buzz. (The default setting.)

    • Buzz for 5 minutes with a 10 minute grace period.

    • Continuous buzz with no grace period.

    Note

    The grace period is a defined duration (for example, 10 minutes) during which the previous driver remains assigned, and the buzzer is silenced. After the grace period ends, the buzzer will sound continuously until the driver uses the fob to assign themselves to the vehicle.

  2. Tap Continue.

Step 8: Test the Driver ID installation

  1. Turn on the vehicle ignition and select Start Test.

  2. Tap the Driver ID reader with the key fob.

    If successful, the buzzer switches off.

  3. To run the test again, select Run test again.

  4. To exit the test, select Next.

Step 9: Perform an ignition test

This test confirms that the device is reporting whether the vehicle’s ignition is on or off.

  1. Turn on the ignition.

  2. Tap Ignition ON Test.

    A green dot appears when the test is successful.

  3. Turn off the ignition.

  4. Tap Ignition OFF Test.

    A green dot appears when the test is successful.

  5. Tap Next.

Step 10: Enter the vehicle information

  1. On the Vehicle profile screen, enter the information for the new vehicle and tap Save.

    Enter the following information:

    • Vehicle name (mandatory)

    • License plate number

    • VIN

    • Year, make, model

    • Fuel type

    • Tank capacity

    • Fuel efficiency (city)

    • Fuel efficiency (highway)

    • Current odometer reading

  2. Alternatively, if re-installing the device in the same vehicle, tap the Use same details toggle and check that the vehicle information is correct.

  3. Tap Next.

  4. On the Device transfer screen, the tracker status shows that it is installed.

  5. Tap Next.

Step 11: Check alignment of the AI Dashcam (if applicable)

For a Road-Facing AI Dashcam:

  1. On the Camera alignment screen, in the Dashcam section, tap Check alignment.

  2. On the Preview road-facing camera screen, review the camera preview.

  3. Once you are satisfied with the camera angle, tap Close.

For a Dual-Facing AI Dashcam:

  1. On the Camera alignment screen, in the Dashcam section, tap Check alignment.

  2. On the Preview road-facing camera screen, review the camera preview.

  3. Once you are satisfied with the camera angle, tap Next camera.

  4. On the Preview driver-facing camera screen, review the camera preview.

  5. Once you are satisfied with the camera angle, tap Close.

  6. If you are not transferring Extended View Cameras, tap Next.

Step 12: Check alignment of the Extended View Cameras (if applicable)

  1. On the Camera alignment screen, in the Extended View Cameras section, tap Check alignment.

  2. On the Align camera angles screen, review the preview for each of the installed cameras.

  3. Once you are satisfied with the camera angles, tap Close.

  4. Tap Next.

Step 13: Review the transfer details

  1. On the Device transfer screen, review the new vehicle details, the tracker details and all the associated devices.

  2. If correct, tap Next.

  3. On the Device transfer complete screen, tap Next.

Step 14: Check the device in

  1. On the Device installed confirmation screen, tap Continue.

  2. On the Device details screen, tap CHECK IN.

  3. On the Work ticket screen, tap Finalize Job.
